The client wanted a pergola that would provide a contemporary outdoor living space while complementing the period property.
We specified a B200 XL pergola with black frame and white louvres, creating a modern contrast that works beautifully against the traditional architecture. The white louvres help reflect light back into the space, while the black frame gives a clean, architectural finish.
Due to existing drain downpipes, the pergola could not be wall-mounted in the usual way. Instead, we carried out extensive flashing works to give the illusion of a wall-mounted structure, creating a neat, integrated look while working around the practical constraints of the property.
Retractable screens to the open sides provide wind reduction, privacy, and added comfort, while the remote-operated infrared heaters and integrated lighting make the space usable well into the evening and throughout the seasons.
The finished pergola delivers a stylish and practical outdoor space that enhances the period property without overpowering it. It combines modern outdoor living technology with sensitive design detailing, creating a comfortable area for relaxing and entertaining all year round.
At Rase Outdoor Living, we specialise in complete outdoor transformations — from initial groundwork to bespoke pergola design and installation. We create spaces that are both beautiful and built to last.
