This project demonstrates how careful planning and technical design can elevate a pergola into a true outdoor room. Installed at a contemporary home near Louth, Lincolnshire, the pergola features sliding glass walls on all four sides, creating a bright, sheltered space that can be enjoyed throughout the year. The success of the installation relied on detailed collaboration with the builder and resin contractor long before installation began.

The client wanted more than a pergola. They wanted a fully enclosed outdoor room that would complement their modern home whilst maintaining uninterrupted views of the garden.
To achieve this, we designed the project from the ground up, producing detailed technical drawings for both the builder and resin installer before construction began. This allowed the sliding glass tracks to be recessed into the finished surface, dramatically reducing the threshold between inside and outside and creating a cleaner, more contemporary finish.
The combination of an anthracite grey frame with white rotating louvres creates a striking architectural appearance while reflecting natural light back into the room. Four sliding glass walls allow the pergola to be fully enclosed during poor weather or opened completely on warmer days, giving complete flexibility throughout the seasons.
Integrated lighting, plug sockets and discreet pigeon deterrent wire complete the installation, ensuring the pergola remains practical as well as beautiful.
The completed pergola functions as a genuine extension of the home rather than simply a covered patio.
