This project highlights how a bespoke double roofed pergola with sliding glass walls transformed an outdoor seating area between two buildings. Designed to provide shelter, reduce strong winds, and maintain clear views of the garden, the pergola created a stylish and functional outdoor retreat.
The client’s vision was to bridge the gap between two existing buildings, while incorporating a brick wall at the rear, to create a covered seating area that could withstand strong winds without obstructing the stunning garden views.
We installed a double roofed pergola, perfectly sized to cover the space. Its motorised rotating louvred roof allows sunlight and shade to be adjusted throughout the day, providing flexibility for different weather conditions.
The white louvres were chosen to maximise brightness under the pergola, creating an inviting and airy atmosphere. To ensure the highest level of waterproofing, we added colour-matched flashings designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding buildings.
Versatile and Uninterrupted Views with Sliding Glass Panels
To create a fully enclosed yet versatile space, we incorporated six stacking panel sliding glass walls. These panels can be easily slid aside and stacked, providing maximum opening when needed while still blocking strong winds and draughts when closed. The transparent panels maintain the full view of the rear gardens, ensuring the space feels open and connected to the outdoors.
This project perfectly combines functionality with modern aesthetics. The pergola offers a weatherproof, flexible space, while the glass walls provide protection without sacrificing the beauty of the surrounding garden.
