This was a large-scale commercial project requiring careful consideration of both functionality and aesthetics.
Working through a tender process, we developed a design that would maximise usable space while maintaining the professional, high quality appearance of a public venue. The triple roof configuration allows for a wide, uninterrupted covered area, ideal for events and gatherings. Retractable screens on all sides provide flexibility, allowing the space to be fully open in good weather or enclosed for protection when needed.
To ensure year-round usability, we integrated infrared heating and extensive lighting, creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for evening and colder weather use. The addition of a glass balustrade maintains openess while clearly defining the space. creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for evening and colder-weather use.
The completed installation delivers a versatile, high-capacity outdoor space that enhances the Oakwood Centre’s offering.
It allows the venue to host event, functions, and community activities in a controlled environment, regardless of weather, significantly increasing its usability and commercial potential.
This project highlights how well-designed pergola systems can add real value to public and commercial spaces, not just residential settings.
