How We Met the Brief

The client’s garden in Scotland featured a modern tiled area that needed structure and height to complete the space. In addition, they wanted a solution that could withstand Scottish weather while offering shade, shelter, and flexibility for all seasons.

Bioclimatic Design for a Changing Climate:
We installed a 3m x 3m B200XL pergola with rotating louvres in anthracite grey. The louvred roof allows the client to control light and ventilation, providing shade on sunny days and protection from rain—perfect for the unpredictable Scottish weather. The anthracite grey colour beautifully complements the existing tiled garden’s sleek, modern aesthetic.

Fully Enclosed for Maximum Usability:
Dark grey automated screens were added to all four sides of the pergola. These screens provide privacy, reduce wind exposure, and ensure a sheltered, cosy environment, ideal for the breezier Scottish climate.

Comfort and Atmosphere in All Seasons:
To maximise usability, we installed a colour-matched heater, ensuring warmth and comfort year-round. Spotlights in the pergola’s frame and LED louvre lights enhance the visual appeal and provide practical illumination, allowing the space to be enjoyed day and night.
